"Hola Amigos, Here we are in rainy Guatemala
City. Today we met our son Bowen! It was a
long anticipated meeting. Not just the months
that we had to wait, but it was also a long day.
We were supposed to meet Bowen (with his
foster mother) at 8:00 am this morning. It
wasn't until 2:00 pm that they finally showed up
(such is life in Guatemala). The wait was worth
it! He is beautiful and very happy. Even with
all of the kids mauling him he is always good
natured...."
This was an e-mail sent home from us the first
day we met Bowen. We were thrilled to finally
have him in our arms. He was immediately
welcomed into our family and felt a part of us
from the first moments we were with him.
These are pictures of the very first moments
with him...as you can tell EVERYONE wanted
to get a piece of this boy! He was so cute and
happy...
As we relished our first moments with Bowen,
we found out that he had actually been living in
Ronald Mayorg's home. (He is the attorney that
went and got Bowen in Zacapa and had legal
custody of him until the adoption was final). Bo
was being taken care of by his nanny, sweet
Ophilia. This is a picture of me with Ophilia. We
are so grateful for the love and care she gave
Bowen from the time he was just 3 days old.
She loved him very much! I think it is so sweet
how he is looking at her.
